Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Gibson Centre for Community, Arts & Culture. Volunteers at The Centre play an invaluable role by providing tours to visitors, answering telephone and greeting guests, supporting events, assisting at performances and art programs, helping in our Café, or serving on our board or committees.
Volunteering is an excellent and rewarding way to contribute to your community, stay active, meet people, learn more about the arts, use your skills, pursue your interests, fulfill your educational requirements, and much more.
Our volunteers include men and women from all walks of life and all age groups – professionals, homemakers, students, retirees, etc. Families and community groups are also welcome.
Our volunteer assignments have various time commitments that fit every lifestyle - weekly, monthly, occasionally, etc.
Our screening process for volunteers includes a personal interview with the Coordinator, Volunteer services, two reference checks and a police record check. Prior to starting your assignment you will be given an orientation to The Centre as well as on the job training to your specific assignment.
If you would like further information or are interested in taking the next step towards volunteering at The Centre, please contact The Gibson Centre at 435-2828 or email info@gibsoncentre.com.
We look forward to hearing from you.
